Z10 Contacts and Text Messaging issues

Can't share contacts after linking, is there any way to do that or is it simply not supported.


and how to send text messages to many, because when i choose compose message in the TO field i have to choose and select contacts one by one and i can't find any way to select multiple contacts in one go.

please help.

Thanks for your question about Contacts on the BlackBerry Z10.

 

Can you clarify what you mean by "Can't share contacts after linking"? What did you link? Are you trying to share via Bluetooth or Email? 

 

As for sending text messages to multiple contacts, you will need to manually add the desired contacts on an individual basis.

I linked same contacts getting sync from Facebook, LinkedIn and my local contacts....but when I select them I don't have any option for sharing... but if I select a contact which is just a single contact without being linked then I get the sharing option...

The option to Share is for native Contacts created only.

The Facebook and LinkedIn cannot be shared since they are synced from the app and are view-able.

Are you saying what I think you're saying - that I cannot share my own contact vcard (or whatever you want to call it) because my  LinkedIn and Facebook is linked with my native contact card?

 

That's dumb!  Very dumb and short sighted.   I tried sending another native contact via text or email of a contact that didn't have any LinkedIn or Facebook details and no problems at all.  But when I tried to share my own native contacts with both LinkedIn and Facebook details attached it just said "General Problems".

 

Not good at all.

If you have created a native contact, let's call this contact Joe Smith and he has a LinkedIn and Facebook account, these details will link to Joe's contact info and you should have the option to share Joe's contact details.

Let's say you have a contact Jane Smith who only is on your Facebook list but you did not have a native contact created, you will not be able to share her contact information.

Thans for the quick reply.  I totally understand.

 

The problem is my very own native contact (mine with Facebook and LinkedIn details) cannot be sent.   The message after it fails to send the text is "General Problems" - pretty vague problem.

 

Now my native contact has just disappeared.  I cannot find it in my native contact app anywhere.  Why is that happening?

Strange.  I found my contact card in the native contact app on the Z10 but my name and last name were deleted.  I then added them back and shared the native contact card by texting to me and then it worked.

 

What gives?  Why did my contact card change?

Did you manually add yourself to your device or did you mystically appear?

Not sure why it would disappear and be modified.
