blackberry 9720 problems!

Hi guys. I have a slight issue with my 9720. I bought it about 2 weeks ago, and my phone got warm, rebooted, rejected any memory cards and did not want to download any mp3's on the net, I went back to where I bought it (within my 7 days immediate exchange) and the swopped me out with a new unit. Now the new 9720 I have now does not give that much problems. But when I try to download mp3's (from numerous sites I used with my blackberry pearl) it says, item cannot be displayed, save anyway? And the other issue is, I have bought 4 different memory cards, and my phone rejects them all, when I put a song on, and then play it, it starts rebooting and then says card needs to be formatted. Then I format it, then it says it needs to be repaired then I do that, then it says failed. I've tried micro sd, trancend, sandisk and original samsung memory cards and they all do the same... My phone reboots once I play or watch anything that's on my memory card. What am I to do? This is really a nice phone and I don't want to get rid of it, I just want it to work. Please help.

Hello lilee20

Welcome to the forums.

In this case we can try to reload the software on the BlackBerry® smartphone to make sure it is running the latest version and there are no issues with the OS.

Here is how to backup your BlackBerry smartphone http://bbry.lv/oPVWXc

Once you have backed up your BlackBerry smartphone please follow the link below to complete a clean reload of the BlackBerry smartphone software.

What says error, where?

What are you trying to download?

Re: blackberry 9720 problems!

and all it says is "error", nothing more?

Are you connected to WiFi, or only to your mobile network... who is your mobile provider?

Re: blackberry 9720 problems!

  • Open your Browser > Options > and clear the cache.
  • Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
  • Now, try again.

Also, I have known MTN to limit over-the-air downloads via the mobile in the past.

Re: blackberry 9720 problems!

That's an MTN problem. I suggest you call them.
What you're trying to do will very likely work correctly off you were connected to a wifi router.
