This actually should have been posted in the BBM for BlackBerry forum. The most common cause of being stuck on that screen is network connectivity issues. Do you have a blackberry data plan? If you check your service status under wireless settings, what does it say? Can you send e-mail and browse over your cellular connection?
Also, what country are you in? (some countries block access to some blackberry services).
You can also enable your wifi radio - you typically have lower latency over wifi (provided you have a fast broadband connection).
