Battery Warranty

I have a Black Berry Torch that is less then a year old that isn't holding a charge. I've talked to my carrier and they have determined that it is definitely a defective battery. They no longer have a program in place to replace batteries and directed me to the manufacturer. I cannot find anywhere on your site that tells me how to go about this. What do I need to do?

Re: Battery Warranty

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Actually, sorry to tell you, but this forum is not a channel for formal communications with BlackBerry -- it is a user-to-user community.

Further sorry to tell you, but BlackBerry services no end user issues directly at all, including warranty. All support starts with the carriers, the original place of purchase, or authorized service centers -- it varies by region and issue.

Consequently, the place to service your warranty request related to your battery is the place from which you obtained it. If that is you carrier, then whoever you spoke to mis-directed you as they hold that front line responsibility. The only way for end users to receive any formal support from BlackBerry is via escalation, which is what your carrier should have done (rather than, as I fear, simply fobbing you off without proper instructions).

Good luck!
