BlackBerry Music Gateway performance issue

Hello,

I've been using the BlackBerry Music Gateway with a Bold 9700 for about a year now.

Recently I've upgraded to OS6 and the sound became choppy; the problem increases with distance, and the sound won't be decently stable unless I put the 2 devices less than 1 foot apart (kinda defeats the purpose of a remote device).

I am pretty sure this is related to the upgrade, as I've tried playing music over the Gateway with another Bold 9700 still on OS5 and a completely different device (MacBook Pro). Both work fine the way the 9700 did before it got upgraded.

Anyone encountered this issue as well? Any leads for a solution? Thanks!

Re: BlackBerry Music Gateway performance issue

Have you tried unpairing the BlackBerry from the Stereo Gateway and resetting the pairing again?

Re: BlackBerry Music Gateway performance issue

Hello,

I hadn't... I just tried, doesn't fix it. Good idea though.

Definitely a Bluetooth issue... The sound gets better with the phone in the upright position, worse with the phone facing the ground. Even worse when I turn on the Bluetooth on my PlayBook paired with the 9700 (probably competing for bandwidth).

Re: BlackBerry Music Gateway performance issue

What is your Operating System loaded to your device? Look at Options > > Device > About, third line down beginning with a "v.6.0.x.xxx", What is yours?

No, there's not...to BlackBerry.

You call your mobile network provider if you need technical assistance, and any issue they cannot resolve you can ask that it be escalated to RIM level tech support.
