Exact same problem here, after merely two months of use my ear hook just broke... I was lucky to find out before the headset got lost.
I beats me how come RIM has not made its voice heard about this "slight" detail....
Continue ignoring the voice of the customer RIM folks... One of these days you just won't hear it anymore.

RIM makes excellent phones and an excellent tablet. Technically, when it comes to their GUI and design it is behind the other competitors. I use their products for business useage, and they do what I need with excellent security. I like the RIM products, except for support for their earphone.
I bought two HS-700's. They perform well, and work excellent with their phone. The reason why I will no longer buy earphones from RIM is because of the problem to have replacement gells and earhooks. You would expect a big company like this to supply replacement parts for the products they sell.

...posted earlier in this thread, right?
I wish RIM carried them also, but knowing ShopBlackBerry.com, they'd be overpriced and/or not available.

Yes I have seen it. But I live in Curacao and with the freight charges it is almost 40 $.
In the meantime I have bought a new earphone from plantronics.

Ouch. Well, it's no consolation, but if ShopBlackBerry.com were selling it, you'd be paying even more.

They should sell this item to there suppliers worldwide! That's the solution. Now they have lost I think a lot of potential customers.

At least with the Plantronics you can have spare parts and support!
