No SD card reader available

I was about to purchase a playbook for my wife when I found out that there is no SD card reader available.  She would be using it primarily for photos etc.... With out a SD reader.... It would be a real pain.. One does not travel with their computer under arm....

You are forcing me to go I Pad 2.... I wanted to buy from RIM because I am Canadian and so are they....

How could someone on the cutting edge of technology overlook a simple item like this ???????????????

Re: No SD card reader available

HELLO DOC1111 !

Please be aware that the Apple iPad 2 does not have an SD card reader either.

And before you go to the Samsung community forum, the Samsung Galaxy Tab does not have an SD card reader either.

Please go buy a Motorola Xoom if the SD Card reader is among your requirements.

And please do not use red.

Re: No SD card reader available

It's not the case that RIM "could not do" something this simple... they simply prioritized it lower than other things.  It's in the works... at least "host mode" (aka USB On The Go) is in the works, and that would provide the technical foundation for doing an SD card reader, via the USB interface.

Re: No SD card reader available

No, there is not. They've said nothing official about it, period, nor hinted at any timeline.
