Is it possible to over-charge a lithium ion battery? I've heard multiple things about the causes of a bubbling battery or one that will not charge, does leaving a phone plugged in over night actually negatively affect battery life? Thanks

Blackberry batteries do get overcharged. Learned that the hard way. My phone doesn't hold a charge and will die within 5-30 minutes.
I went to Sprint to see if I can get a new battery & was told that I can't get one under my warranty because overcharging is considered "physical damage."

the person at Sprint is cluless and knows nothing about batteries
We have 240 users here and everyone charges them at night with no ill effect for the past few years.
It is possible you have a defective battery, they make them by the millions and there are bound to be a defect on some.
Good info I posted if you want to learn more

You know, thats not the best thing to do. You should never charge your phone for more than a couple of hours.
Unless you have a box of spare batteries lyiing in your store room.
