Using 3rd party charger and PB not charging

Hi *,

I have a 3rd party charger, that charges fine my phone, Kindle etc. It's able to do 2,5A (5V) on output. But when I connect it to PB nothing happens, the screen lights up, but the battery is not charging. I think the problem is not because of not enough amps, it's more than original wall charger.

But I have no idea what's the problem... Is it too much amps and PB, instead of using just what's needed, will just disconnect the charger at all? Any other idea?

I'm not happy with need to have two charges with me right now. :smileysad:

Thanks JC

Re: Using 3rd party charger and PB not charging

I attempted to charge my Playbook with the charger that came with my Bold 9700. It did not work. I've read that the Playbook can only be charged with the Playbook charger.   Solution to carrying 2 chargers:  Carry the Playbook charger and use it to charge the Blackberry. That works!

Problem is, that I need that other charger too, because of other devices.

I'm wondering what's the reason the PlayBook will use the electrons from it. :smileyhappy:

Re: Using 3rd party charger and PB not charging

I had no problems with other bb chargers and third party chargers until AFTER the "downgrade" to the new 1.05 operating system. Now taking longer to charge too.

I have 0,7A charger and that works fine. It's charging slooowly, but works. The 2,5A is simply like rejected, but only by PB.

I meant "will _not_ use the electrons from", of course.

Will the playbook charger charge everything else you have?

Sadly, it won't.
