Apps installtion problem

Hi Folks,

B'berry has been working fine until last week.  Now whenever I try to download either a B'berry Apps World update, or any device software I get an error message during installation that says "there was a problem during installation".  The downloading is straighforward and trouble free but the installation is the issue.  The trouble is there doesn't seem to be a way of finding out just what the issue is.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to resolve this as it's very frustrating?

Thanks,

Fred.

Re: Apps installtion problem

Whoops...forgot to mention that I have a B'berry Bold 9000.

My provider is T-Mobile.

My version is: v4.6.0.216. (platform 4.0.0.183).

B'berry Apps version:  Can't find it in the list....that's odd as it's definitely on there!

Re: Apps installtion problem

Fredbear, Greetings, and welcome to the BlackBerry.com Support Forums.

My first suggestion is a reboot of the device:  With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

Secondly, I would look at your Options > Status > File Free. What is your File Free? I know AppWorld won't allow certain downloads/installation if the File Free is too low. While your's might be ABOVE that acceptable level, it still might just be low.

Finally, OS release .216 is getting sorta old. The latest official Bold OS is .304, and you might try upgrading the OS.

Re: Apps installtion problem

Hi JS,

thanks for the feedback.   It gets odder as I just connected my B'berry to the Desktop Manager to do a software update and it says that 'no update is necessary'.

Fred.
