Sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes, I recieved the email from the auto responder.

OK...then, in that case, you should use the follow up instructions that came with that auto-response. I've no idea how long it takes them to deal with things...
button inside of their post. Further, if you are the original poster (OP) and your issue is solved, please remember to (on the post that is the solution) click the "Accept as Solution" button so that others can more easily find it. Cheers! Oh...and FWIW...I am not a RIM employee...and these forums are user-to-user...not user-to-RIM.

Thanks for the tip. I'd deleted that auto response but it was still in my trash folder. I've replied to it so we'll see what happens.

Well I got a reply from a person today. Unfortunatly it was one of those stock replies meant to make me go away. He gave me a link to download AppWorld (darn if I know how that's supposed to help) and a link to the FAQ and Knowledge base. Since this was utterly worthless to me, I responded back, trying hard to maintain my civility, suggesting that this was of no help whatsoever and could they please put me in touch with someone who could find a solution to my problem.
I'm about ready to delete AppWorld from my phone and just write those apps I purchased off. I certainly know I'll NEVER purchase another app through it.

No reply back yet so I sent another response with that trouble ticket number, this time "Hello, anyone awake?".
To this point no one at RIM has bothered addressing the actual problem.
If RIM won't address the problem I'm considering returning the phone to VZ as defective.

Still no intelligent response from RIM. What does it take to get someone there to actually read what my difficulty is and respond to it?
I'm taking the phone back to VZ one day next week, assuming I get some free time. Maybe they can get a response.

I found the problem when I went to make a Paypal payment this evening. I got a warning from Paypal that the credit card I had on file with them had expired. I didn't get this notice by email when the card expired, nor when I just logged into my paypal account. I didn't get it till I actually tried to make a payment. On a whim after fixing the problem and making the payment I immediately attempted to log into MyWorld and was successful.
I'm at a loss for words. RIM has to know that this could happen, a simple intelligent response to my email could have prevented 20 days of aggravation on my part and one very annoyed and disillusioned customer. No, I'm not at a loss for words, but the ones I'd like to use aren't suitable for this forum.
Thanks for everyone who tried helping me with this.
And RIM......go jump in a lake.

It is entirely possible as the credit card info is not visible to RIM personnel but is merely an encrypted file they did not know the specific reason you could not log in.
That a log in apparently requires a "valid" paypal account (one with a still valid card) would be something the system does automatically and transparently. If the card is no longer valid the log in fails probably with no internal to RIM/App Store error code.
That your card was expired is not an issue with RIM or the App Store. It is however something that once you corrected caused the system to work as it should. The source lay with your card and was up to you to fix.
I have, by the way, a calendar event one month out for the expiration date of all my cards. If I don't get the replacement I query the issuer.
