I have a Pearl 8130 with unlimited data plan from Verizon. Updated to OS 4.5.0.175 and trying to re-install Facebook (I had it before?!) directly from my browser. But the download is telling me that I don't meet the requirements? What am I missing? Has something changed or is Facebook just being a pain?

Strange. I know Verizon requires the correct BlackBerry Data Plan for its BlackBerry users.
From your BlackBerry browser, go to www.blackberry.com/facebook
Attempt the download from there. What happens?

Thats how I have been trying it. There is a note that version 1.7 "can only be used if you have access to the browsing service" and directs you to use version 1.6 if you don't. But I've tried both. downloads without success. ???

I'm on T-Mobile and having the exact same problem with my Pearl 8120. It won't let me download either one of the versions for some reason. It says I don't meet system requirements but I've checked and can't figure out what I don't meet.

I am having that same problem now, I have a version of FB on my phone but when I go to update I get that same message. Did anyone find out what was wrong, or a way to fix it?

FACEBOOK recently did an update which impacted the 8330's - it no longer works with Facebook. Amanda from Sprint Customer Service told me this....
