Re: Upgrade your service to a plan that includes browsing error message.

Nick,

1. You don't want to call RIM directly, you can get FREE support from RIM through your carrier if they will only bump you up to RIM tech support. Always ask your carrier for that, especially if they are silly enough to tell you "to call RIM."

2. I know someone who has a Bold on T-Mobile UK and the app world is working.  I wonder if this issue may be related to the content lock on your SIM. I have heard of people having this on their SIM, I don't recall the exact issue, but it is certainly worth your inquiry of your carrier.

Good luck.

Re: Upgrade your service to a plan that includes browsing error message.

I am having this problem for the first time today. I am a Curve owner in the UK on an O2 tariff which includes browsing, and have had no previous problems accessing the App World via any means, wi-fi or otherwise.

I have followed all the instructions to uninstall and reinstall, and have checked the browser settings, but to no avail. What's going on?

I can browse the net as normal and all other 3rd-party apps are accessing the web without issue!

I am guessing that you will need the full BlackBerry Data Plan added to your tariff, not just a browsing plan.

Yes I have the BlackBerry Bolt-on. Nothing with my tariff has changed, so why did it work before but not now?

This is interesting... I have just tried again to use App World, now that I am home and connected to the net via broadband wifi. Instead of the previous error message, it brought up the Terms of Use (usual post-installation thing) which I accepted. Now App World is workng fine!!

I've just turned off the Curve's wifi connection, and it's still working - very strange...

Re: Upgrade your service to a plan that includes browsing error message.

I HAVE a plan that includes browsing.  I am with TIM in Italy.  Blackberry app world worked perfectly on my curve 8900 along with a number of other programmes inlcuding maps and the browser.  All the other apps continue to work perfectly, but blackberry app world has stopped, giving me the famous message.  I don't recall changing anything and I have tried to delete and reinstall a number of times without success.

Ciao,

posso chiederti come hai risolto il problema?

Io ho un 8520 Curve e non riesco a far funzionare nè l'App World.

Grazie!
