my wife and I just got new curves 8330
only difference is her's is red, and mine is black/graphite
when I go to appworld I can see/download everything.
Using her phone, many apps don't appear, and of those that do, there's no option to download or purchase b/c it says it's unavailable. that' can't be, b/c they are the same phone ... with the same software ...
HELP it's driving me nuts, and wish I'd never left palm.

Ok, 8330 vs 8330m, I don't know why it would make a difference, it should not.
Let me see what I can find out.

hello,
the 8330 and the 8330m are two entirely different devices. When a software editor publishes an application on AppWorld, they declare a whitelist of supported device.
from what I have read about the subject, many editors forget about the 8330m, even more than the 8350i.

so what do I do? take the phone back to sprint and ask them for a red 8330, instead of the 8330m?

I don't know, if I recall correctly the 8330m device has been created because there was a shortage of technical identification reference with the 8330 : ESN was depleted and replaced by MEID (hence the m of 8330m), so I doubt a given store will sell both the 8330m and the 8330.
This is specific to CDMA devices, for use on a CDMA network like Verizon or Sprint.

I bought both on the same day from the same store.

well, go there as soon as possible, they may still have some 8330 ESN in stock then.
you can justify it by saying that the 8330m is not supported everywhere yet, meaning it bears less features than the 8330 today, especially about applications you want to BUY on the appWorld (your carrier gets money when you buy apps on the AppWorld).

so, are you suggesting that the 8330m will eventually be supported everywhere?
If that's all sprint has left, I would hope that is the case.
