Re: i just got a " you have reached the maximum number of PI...

Hi there!

Your inquiry needs to be sent as follows. Go to this URL:

and fill out the form. Use, in the "Please select a component:" field, the AppWorld Billing/Payment selection. Any other selection will simply route you back anonymously to these public forums. Be sure to also include the reason why you have exceeded your maximum allowable PIN associations to AppWorld (e.g., multiple RMA, warranty replacement, etc.). If you don't have an "Order Number" for that field, just use anything (e.g., "123456").

If the form responds telling you that your PIN is invalid, then please report that fact back here as there is a separate resolution path for that issue.

If that does not work, then please return to these forums (http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/) and register an account so that we can provide you with direct assistance.

Cheers!

Re: i just got a " you have reached the maximum number of PI...

I'm having the same issue.  I switched from a Storm 1 to a Tour, and now to a Storm 2, and I'm getting the "You have reached the maximum number of PIN...." message.  I tried logging a support ticket and its telling me that my PIN is invalid.

You try to do the right thing and purchase software that you like, and it's like you're constantly punished for it. (the many restrictions of iTunes is another example)  Makes me want to just go to a torrent site and get all the apps I want for free.  Grrrrrr.....

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

Please see your Private Messages on this site for a PM from me with instructions as to how you need to proceed re:the Invalid PIN response on the form. After that is resolved, you will be able to log your Max PIN change issue on the form

Best.

Re: i just got a " you have reached the maximum number of PI...

So I messaged the person and my PIN now gets accepted into the RIM support system.  It's now been 2 days since I submitted it, and I still have no response or resolution.

I spent around $50 on apps that I cannot use.  I guess it's time to start filing charge-backs with my credit card company.

I can understand why they would want to limit the number of phones you can transfer your downloads to.  But as it is, I can't even buy new applications without creating a completely new PayPal account.  The way app world is set up, I can't even download free applications that I had downloaded before...it completely restricts downloading any free applications that were once associated with the account that is 'locked out.'

Crappy planning by Rim

Crappy customer service

I recommend purchasing your apps from the crackberry app world.  None of these problems exist there.

So, just to clarify...after your PIN was cleared, you were able to submit your ticket regarding changing the PIN association with AppWorld. But you have had zero response since submitting? Is that correct? Because you should have received an immediate email auto-response with both a ticket number as well as follow-up instructions. If you have, as you say, received nothing, then something has likely gone wrong with the ticket submission since you should at least have had that immediate auto-response.

Let us know.
