After updating your Os did you remember to also format your SD card?
If you afraid of losing data, back it up on pc then format on the pc , next insert in 9700, and format again on the phone.
Reason for double formatting: in my opinion windows does a better job of formatting but when placed in a blackberry , bb's have issues writing to and reading from it.
But when the formatted by the phone the read and write process by the phone to the card is not intermittent.
* once you have formatted the card on pc then 9700 ....perform a test by downloading a few pics or songs....once done now connect the phone to the pc in mass storage mode.
* if windows says: there are errors on the card scan and fix recommended
Do this from now on the card should work fine and you can drop your backup to the card now.
TIP: try using SD with high read and write speeds....avoid low ones.
