9780 Update 7OS

Hi, this is my first post :smileyhappy:

I'm interested if there will be possibilities to upgrade to OS7 my Bold 9780?

Tnx for answer.

Re: 9780 Update 7OS

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

It is difficult to find definite answers, but I suspect that the 9780 was not included with devices that could move up to OS7. To be sure, you have work to do. Start here:

Look at EVERY carrier on that portal page, and see which ones support your 9780. Then, compare the OS levels that each has released to find out if any have released an OS7 for your 9780.

The carriers control the release of the OS to their end users. Hence, the portal is first in order by carrier...so it is a long process for you to find the answer you seek.

Good luck!

No need to look through the list. The 9780 is not supported for OS7. Sorry.

Re: 9780 Update 7OS

Unfortunately, that is correct.

To be honest, I prefer OS 6 over OS 7 anyway. OS 7 has severe memory leaks where OS6 on the 9780 was pretty stable in that regard.

To paraphrase...

And, in the case here, enable him to then better help others -- paying it forward, in a sense.
