Hello to all.
I have an issue with my 9780. It crashes and reboots 8-10 times a day. Sometimes it just switches itself off.
I've tried:
-wiping, reinstalling OS (including various up and downgrades)
-different batteries (including a business card between the battery and the battery door, the issue also appears when the phone is connected to the charger)
-different SIM cards and carriers
-operating the Bold with 2G and 3G, 2G only, 3G only
-removing/reinserting memory card, different memory cards
-removing/reinstalling all removable apps (3rd party and native ones)
-mobile connection/wifi on/off
-giving to device to the service (and waiting 1 month to get it back)
There are some entries in the event log of the device for the time shortly before a crash/reboot:
1. ca. 10 times "i net.rim.networkapi - Fatf 1/3/6"
2. a net.rim.tcp - open
3. a net.rim.tunnel - Stat -1 0 4
4. a net.rim.tunnel - Clos -1
5. E net.rim.tcp - TNLf 10
6. a System - VM: 100086 gc=0 idle=1 native=none
7. a System - System Startup
Step 1 to 5 are in the log ca. 20 times before every crash/reboot.
Background Info:
Bold 9780
6.0.0.668
Thanks in advance.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
You have certainly been through a lot, but I do not see these two things listed...
You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.
You may also want to try this tedious procedure to perhaps narrow down the precise causal item:
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.
Good luck and let us know!

Thanks for the reply.
I will try this.
Are the symptoms that appear on my device already known or am I the one and only with this specific issue?
Do you know what the error message from the event log is about?

I have no way to know...as a user-to-user community, there is no formal tracking of anything here. We're not RIM, tracking bugs and such...we're just other users, volunteering to try and help out others. I can say that your symptoms likely have been experienced by others, but I can't point to anything specific.

Not a clue.
Good luck!
