9790 always in SOS mode

Hi, since i bought this phone in April, its always been giving me SOS mode except for when i orient the phone in a certain way, in certain spots of my room. Other that that, i can't go anywhere in the house, its just SOS. I bought the phone with WIND Mobile. Thinking it was WIND that had the problem, i unlocked the phone to try it with Fido. It's confirmed that it is NOT the wireless carrier that has the problem, its the actual phone itself. 

 

Is there a fix for this?

I don't want to believe that I spent $400 to buy the phone and its nothing but an expensive paper weight.

Have you kept the network settings to "Automatic" and did a battery pull? When there is SOS, what provider is shown in the network settings area? Does other phones work in your house?

i've tried automatic, manual, multiple battery pulls, system resets.

when it says SOS, it doesnt say any provider, just the wifi network im connected to

When you boot up, the phone usually searches for signal and then blinks with the network operator name. What does it do in your case? I mean, when it searches for operator network what does the error come up with? Did you buy a used phone?
