I too am a loyal BMW driver (14 years now). BMW has come up with a patch fix. They have disabled the office feature on the new bold 9900 and seems to have solved the problem 90% of the time.

Hi,
Excuse my ignorance but what is the office feature (I have a Torch 9810) and how would I disable it?

A quite strange way to sort out the problem, the office feature for me is the last reason to use a blackberry device instead an iPhone or one of those fine Androids.
And it´s the only reason to by the built-in-navi, spending 3.000 Euros, so BMW should NOT disable this feature in my BMW.
By the way, the problem seems to be solved with formware 439 or later :-)

7.0.0.439 and/or 440 don't appear to be available for the 9930 yet. Does anyone know if that is not the case? If I try to download the Wind release via cornep's provided link, I receive an error message. I'm guessing that this is because the 9930 is CDMA, for which there is no equivalent update, as yet.

This problem is 100% fixed with version 7.0.0.540. I installed it yesterday and am into day two with no problems. All functions work including office, and if you have the Bluetooth Sync App from the App Store to allow your Calendar and Tasks to sync, that works too. You can locate this version through either one of the Blackberry Forums or Crackberry Forums. It was described as a "leaked version" but it is a legitimate release, and aside from fixing this BMW Bluetooth issue, the battery life seems to be have improved quite a bit (3 hours into today, my battery is down 10%).

Glad to hear that 7.0.0.540 works for those with GSM devises. However for those of us on CDMA networks (like Verizon), there is no equivalent update, as yet. If this is incorrect, hoping that someone will clarify.
