For downloading the new fimware

For the procedure to force the upgrade

Although I have never encountered problems, use at your own risk.

Re: 9900 constantly rebooting after landing in another country

Could be serious battery drain.

Remove battery , insert charger then replace battery ...leave for 24 to 72 hours. While popping out the Battery and reinserting during the 24 to 72 wait.

Other recommendations here is apploader with no jvm reload of Os.

Personally I think its a cmos battery problem. Needs to be popped out and replaced.

Re: 9900 constantly rebooting after landing in another country

Interresting coincidence I must say :smileyhappy: The same thing happened to me wednesday evening. I had to remove the battery, plus the charger and replace the battery. Within 1/2 h the phone restarted.

Hopefully it worked also for you.

Re: 9900 constantly rebooting after landing in another country

40JD, equivilant of about 50USD did it for me - I tried all what you had suggested but nothing other than a new battery worked.  Battery dead, dead as a dodo after 3 weeks!

Thanks for your advice

Re: 9900 constantly rebooting after landing in another country

...this is getting beyond a joke, is someone at RIM having a laugh at me??

I posted the dead battery, the one that was 2 1/2 weeks old, tried all mentioned here and found no luck, so went and blew 50$ on a new battery, 2 days later, same affect with the new battery, just this time it sprung back on at its own free will (after playing dead for 3 hours).  Now this is the kicker, it did it again today, and I took out the battery, I was checking the label, to ensure I didnt mix them up (old/new against the new/new one) and guess what, I did mix them up, but I managed to get the old/new battery (I guess it was the old/new because Blackberry desktop told me it was empty), it booted, and I waited around 2 hours before DARING to take out the old/new battery, and try again the new/new battery - it booted - so now I have 2 batteries, only need one and 50 bucks down.  Someone is having a laught at RIM!

I don't think anyone is laughing at you.

Where did you pay $50 for a battery? They are 80% of that price online.

In an official blackberry shop Amman Jordan, 40JOD, which is about 50$ - prob with online, it would take a week at least to get to Jordan, and I will be back by then... (((
