9930 lag

There is a terrible lag time on my blackberry 9930. I am new to using this phone but it is a major inconvenience with my work. I pull out the battery and that helps but it happened twice this morning. I missed business calls because of this. Is there a fix for this? Thanks for any help>

Re: 9930 lag

What applications are running in the background?

Is there an active browser page running?

On the homescreen, press the Menu key for two seconds and what icons appear in the App Switcher screen?

Click on them and choose Menu > Close or Exit. Do not press the 'end call' key to close an app, that often leaves the application running in the background and consuming processing power.

Likewise, you can look at the Options > Device > Application Management screen > swipe left to the CPU screen and see what applications have been largely consuming the processor.

What third party applications do you have installed? Some apps like SixTools or Fixmo Tools will run in the background and consume CPU causing lag.

Re: 9930 lag

When I click on home screen I get icons for home,BB messenger, phone, messages, browser

I have never added any apps. I saw there was a star on the apps icon so I closed that and hid that icon.

When I look at options I do not see device, I get home screen preferences so I am not sure how to do the above instructions

Thanks for your time

Look for the main Options or Settings icon on the homescreen, or touch the top most area on the homescreen (up around the time) and scroll down to OPTIONS, etc. and so on.
