A friend of a friend upgraded his Bold 9780 to OS7. is that possible? & will it work?

Hi everyone,<br><br>A friend of a friend of mine upgraded his Bold 9780 which was running under OS6 to OS7 at a gadget shop.I'm currently using the same as he is & very curious about this. I asked my friend if the upgrade 9780 is working properly & she said that it's running perfectly & faster than it was on the OS6.<br><br>I need to know if this is possible bcos I thought OS7 are only for the new blackberrys that were preloaded with the software.<br><br>Anyone who has done this, I would appreciate for further info.<br><br>TQ so much! :smileyhappy:

I hate to burst the ol' bubble, but there is no OS7 for the 9780.

If you demand this friend of a friend does have it installed... let's see a screen shot of the About screen.

Well, I hate to have to keep telling you that you're wrong... but.

 

The latest OS release available for the 9780 model is 6.0.0.706, not OS7.

As a side note, the model 9790 does have OS7.... latest is 7.0.0.496

Hey. i tried updating my 9780 to os 7 since i read ur post but it didnt work after trying three times. I'm really not sure what that fren did but i still dont disbelieve u.
