A little knowledge is dangerous. This is not the same thing at all! Factory settings reset (handset wipe) is an entirely different thing than a battery pull or use of an app that simulates a battery pull re-boot.
There also is nothing to be gained by going back to a long dead thread and posting erroneous information in it.
