Archiving of Applications

[ Edited ]
I wanted to find out why when I go into my Downloads folder on my Bold that there are now a couple of icons that say an application that has been archived when I haven't archived anything.  I also see the icon for the application and the app works fine.  I just hid those apps that are archived, but I don't understand why they are showing archived but the app icon is also visible.  Can someone please shed some light on that for me?  Oh and when I try to un-archive the app, nothing happens and the phone just sits there.  ?????

Re: Archiving of Applications

@sonixceb

This is a function of App World since v1.1 it likes to keep archived copies of your application for later install from your SD card. This way you don't have to download them again or if they were paid copy pay for another download you can do it from App World and recover the application. So its jsut a way of storing all the programs you have downloaded for your own personal copy.

From what I remember you have to ask it to do this and correct me if I am wrong but I'm guessing you have not asked it to archive these applications have you?

Re: Archiving of Applications

Thanks for the information.  I will look into these apps and see if there is a setting that I inadvertently set.

Nope, I don't remember being asked to archive anything and I just upgraded to the new version of App World.
