Hi all, im new to the community. i have ran in to a problem, i brought a BB 9700 yesterday all working prefect till i connected it to the desktop manager and updated it and after reboot, white bar loaded fully then went to a 507 error which i googled it and generally most articles and post i had read, were say to wipe the phone and reload the os via provider. Now this phone is oringal on three network, has been unlocked. I have tried v5 and v6 for three and everytime i have done either on desktop manager or via the apploader it just gets stuck on sometimes the same files and never moved for 2 hours. If any one can help would be very grateful, would like to get it fixed asap.
Files that dm and apploader got stuck on: "net_rim_m2g_internal.cod" & "net_rim_bb_phone_resource.cod"
Also will not allow me to restore on dm, no backup found ?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
A 507 during an update is actually not all that unusual...normally, simply disconnecting the BB from the USB cable and then immediately reconnecting it allows the process to continue. But, since you are already past that, your situation isn't recoverable in the same manner now. BTW -- a 507 means that there is no OS on the device at all...so normal wiping really isn't so useful, since there's basically nothing to wipe. But, a reload of the OS is indeed necessary.
Please refer to this official download portal as you proceed. It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. After installing the OS package to your PC, please remeber to delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.
You may also want to try the "Bare Bones OS Reload Procedure" to attempt to narrow down the precise causal item:
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.
You may also need the use of these tricks:
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
Good luck and let us know!

Thanks for reply, i have done exactly what you posted and i got the phone back on and loaded with 0s 6, I inserted my giffgaff sim in and it worked for about 20 minutes then went to searching for network and then after a peroid of time it goes to no serivce same results when i tried a vodafone uk and orange sim. All three sim work in another phone. so i guess it a hardware problem i guess, any ideas?
