Hi, just recently got the bold 9700 and i LUV IT!!  Only have one problem.  

i import all my contacts from outlook express and they all come out a certain way on my blackberry contacts list.   Problem is that if  i receive a text message from somebody, it shows the number and not contact name even though i have the contact already on my list.  it's just a hassle to look on who texted me all the time.  For example, friend's number is stored on my BB as +1 (123) 456-7891. he sends me an sms/text and it shows it's from +11234567891.  That's the same number but my BB can't identify it as a number from an already known contact.  Sometimes,  it would show (123) 456-7891. SOMEBODY please HELP ME!!! as i have 100+ contacts and i don't want to configure each every contact on my list according to how i receive their number on my sms.

That was  a known issue on certain device operating systems but has since been fixed.

Is anybody else getting a page that says the file is no longer available?

The blackberry desktop software automatically updated the software whren connected the device to the computer.

I seem to have the same issue.

I have downloaded all the updates needed, which my phone already came with it.

Im running v5.0.0.344 

I downloaded my contacts from Outlook

and they do have the numbers stored as (123) 456-7890

I have over 400 contacts and do not wish to change them one by one.

Please help, what do I  have to do?

I still have time to change my phone to get a new one, if thats the case

Any advice please?

Hello,

I'm having the same issue with my BlackBerry Cruve 8530.  Also I'm unable to search through my contacts now, I can scroll down but if I type in a letter for the first name nothing comes up.  I just updated my software the other day - I wonder if this some how caused the issue.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

GREAT!!!!   I have over 1200 contacts and this was VERY annoying to have to correct each contact after each time I would sync my phone which was quite often so as not to loose all those numbers.

I was wondering WHY THE HECK HASN'T BLACKBERRY FIXED THIS!!!!   They did, I just didn't know about it

Doesn't work on my phone  BOLD 9700.  My SMS are still not showing the names.  This is ridiculous that BlackBerry doesn't have this fixed yet.
