Re: BB 9900 reception problems

I have a bold 9900 and I get exact same problem, I can sit in a location look at my phone and have no reception, switch off mobile coverage and switch on again and I get full bars, I even get my daughters curve both on same network yet I have 0 bars, she has 5.

Very poor, my other issue is during a call a click noise happens randomly which throughout the call which makes me miss parts of the convo, not a very good start from my transition from iphone to bb

Re: BB 9900 reception problems

I downloaded 353 and installed the update on my PC, but Desktop Manager does not recognise that there is an update. Why is that. I am in SOuth AFrica and downloaded a Cellular One North American update.

Re: BB 9900 reception problems

guys; there is something serioously wrong with BB9900 and BB9860; i initially bought BB9900 and bought BB9860 to replace the latter; it has many network search problems and continually fails to switch btn 3G and 2G and vice versa; my numerous complaints have gone un answered and am relieved to see others facing the same; maybe now BB will take it seriously; i suspect there is a network bug in OS 7.0 because both phones are running the same OS to the attributes; network just dissapears and fail to reappear until cold boot; also poor battery power management.  has anyone found a solution?????? am sitting with 2000$ worthless equipment from a failing company!!!!

Re: BB 9900 reception problems

Hi,

I literary find myself manually changing the network from "2G" only to "3G" and also the combination of the two. The phone really seems to struggle. I still struggle to speak to my wife on the phone in the area that I work in even though the phone shows full signal. It jumps between GPS, gprs, GPRS, 3g and 3G all in one phone call, its a daft phone with real issues. I've had BB for 6 years but will soon switch to Apple...Bad times!

Re: BB 9900 reception problems

Sorry, still having issues.. have managed to improve batter life slightly, down loaded an app that tells me when the camera is running in the background.. it pings to alert you.. if camera is left to run in background you can find batt only last an hour or so from fully charged, not good... going back to signal issuse, I'm still looking, still get five bars, which drops to SOS, turn off then on and five bars back.. constant pain in the rear... Dropping call etc etc..

Re: BB 9900 reception problems

Still pants but I do get a bit of joy from manually changing between 2G only and 3G only, if I use the option of the combined pair then thats when the phone really struggles, its as if it cant decide which signal to run with and ends up giving you full bars with no actual signal....if that makes any sense?
