BB 9900

I have a problem with a weak / flucuating phone signal on my BB 9900. the battery is draining quickly because the phone keeps on searching for signal. It was diagnosed as requiring a new Power Amplifier (chip?!?)... Regular repair centres cannot do it since it requires a special - very expensive - tool. Did anyone had such a proble? How was it solved?

whoever diagnosed your phone was right.

2 things need to be looked at when you have a weak signal in a strong signal area.

- IC PA

- Antenna

most of the time is IC PA problem, and need to be replaced

need to take metal case off of the mainboard, I'm sure a qualified repairer knows how to do it.

this is what 9900 IC PA looks like
