Secure GC Enabled is listed under Options > Security Options > General Settings on BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry Device Software 4.0 and later. Secure GC Enabled indicates that the BlackBerry smartphone has content protection turned on.
Note: When the Memory Cleaning feature in BlackBerry Device Software 4.3 and later is configured to automatically clean when the BlackBerry smartphone is idle or holstered, Secure GC Enabled may be displayed.
So, that should not be the reason for AppWorld not working.
However the message seems to indicate you are on a corporate BlackBerry provided by your employer, are you?

Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
Now, try AppWorld, and see if you get the same error message?
