'uncaught exception: Index 16 >=16'       'uncaught exception: Index 8 >=8'    'uncaught exception: java.lang.Nullpointer Exception'

My BB Bold came up with these errors.  After this the SMS icon had vanished.  I urgently need to retrieve the messages off the device.  Can anyone help?????

Sorry to hear your BlackBerry® smartphone is experiencing issues.

This error message would indicate your software needs to be reinstalled.

Ensure you backup your data using BlackBerry® Desktop Software then follow the steps in KB11320 How to perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry Device Software for Windows or KB19915 Perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer.

Before restoring your data, check to ensure your SMS icon has restored.

If you still are unable to find your icon it would be advised you contact your mobile network provider to investigate this matter further.
