Re: BB9780 turns off itself now and then

I'd recommend starting with deleting all third party applications and themes and rebooting and see then if the rebooting continues.

If it does, please post back. You likely will need to wipe and reload the operating system.

Tried, didnt work. It still switches itself off. Sometimes in the holster itself.

Have tried everything, even re installed the OS. Still the same issue persists. Taking it to the service center.

Re: BB9780 turns off itself now and then

There is one other option on this if you wish to proceed before the service center.

You will need to use BBSAK or JL_Cmder to wipe the device and subsequently load the OS to the device. Follow the instructions here:
http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_do_I_wipe_the_BlackBerry_using_Jl_Cmder%3F
For BBSAK, here is the link: http://bbsak.org/

Re: BB9780 turns off itself now and then

I tried the below steps. A very peculiar observation. I wiped my phone clean using bbsak and reloaded the OS. I forgot to set up the email account or rather move the email account. A day passed without the email account being setup and the phone worked perfectly fine. However after I setup the email account and after receiving the emails, the phone switched off as usual. And the issue has now come back.

Any thoughts?

Re: BB9780 turns off itself now and then

Finally solved the problem. Changed my mobile network setting from 2g&3g to only 2g as iam not using 3g. Now everything seems to work fine. Phone only shuts down when the battery is to low.

Thanks.

Re: BB9780 turns off itself now and then

Thanks Ganesh!  I had the identical problem, even after installing a new battery (expensive here in the Caribbean!).. So far so good with the 2g setting, will let you know if it holds up after a few days!
