This sounds like a browser message. From your messages folder hit the menu key and choose View Folder, now select Browser Messages to see if you have any messages listed here.

Thanks, it is a Browser message alright but blank (no message).when I hit menu key on the messages folder and scrolled to Mark read the yellow ball on the notification bar disappeared.
