Re: BB9900 froze and now DEAD?

I tried connecting it to the laptop and BB Desktop Software.

NOTHING HAPPENED. It's still DEAD as of the moment. :mansad:

Anymore suggestions JSanders?

Thanks for your usual inputs.

Try a different USB port.

Can you try using a different PC?

You've called Smart for technical support?

Re: BB9900 froze and now DEAD?

Thought I'd try to resolving it here first before calling or going to SMART. Sometimes, its pretty stressful talking to a CSR with this kind of problem. Better if we do it face-to-face. Besides, its the holiday season so I think this'll be just another pending job for them until work resumes.

Unfortunately, my problem has not been resolved yet. Hopefully, things will be brighter when I bring the unit to SMART. *keeping my fingers crossed* *praying*

Re: BB9900 froze and now DEAD?

Hey. Try this. This worked for me multiple times every time my phone dies. Charge for two hours. Just leave it. Then remove battery with charger still plugged. Wait ten seconds. Unplug charger. Then put battery back in. Then plug charger. See if it wakes up.

Thanks for your inputs sitbaddog.

I followed your suggestion. However, nothing happened. The unit is still dead.

I'd keep trying. Here's how I have done it, basically the same:

Leave the device to charge 2-3 hours, and then, still connected to the charging cable, remove the the battery from the device a few seconds and reinsert it. If it boots--leave it to charge to 100% (check Options > Status for the percentage). If it doesn't reboot on the first attempt, leave it several more hours. I've had one charge for two days before it came back to life after an extreme battery depletion. Every 3-4 hours, with the device still connected to the charger, you can remove and replace the battery to see if it reboots.

If it doesn't boot--try using another wall outlet charger or just another wall outlet. If you are connected via USB to the PC, make certain that you have Desktop Manager (or the USB device drivers) installed.
Make certain your USB cable is connected to one of the PC's main rear USB ports. Not a USB hub, nor a monitor USB port, nor a USB port on the front of the PC.
