BBM not working

I got a pre used BB 9790 that I wiped before inserting my my SImCard. I have been trying to set up Black Berry Messenger but all I get is a message 'setting up BlackBerry Messenger' then the screen goes blue and stays that way. I have tried to emove the battery and set it up several times but I keep getting the same result. Please help.

Can you first confirm if you have a BlackBerry Data Plan / BIS on your SIM account from your Carrier Airtel ?

A normal data plan will not allow those BlackBerry Services like BBM , you must BlackBerry Data Plan  / BIS on your account , Do you have it ?

 

 

On your Homescreen Go to Manage Connection > Service Status > BlackBerry Internet Services = what is the status ?

Status: not connected.
Neither is the blackberry enterprise server.
What do I do now?

I think it a personal device Right ? So call your Carrier Airtel to activate BlackBerry Data Plan / BIS on your account . After activating those plans you won't have any problem with BBM or any other BlackBerry applications.

 

 

So call your Carrier Airtel .

Have a secondhand bb 8520 I did not do the wipe yet and the I'd is still the same when I changed it it also changed on the other phone now bbm doesn't work it says"you restored your device data using bb desktop software but your bbm contacts are saved based on your bb Id to back up contacts you can add them to bbm "then when you click yes it exits bbm and when you try to enter it freezes
