BIS issue last week or so

So i have 9700bold, last week or so i lose my BIS but only at nights? If i turn onto wifi its fine, but if not theres not BIS, If i do a battery pull it sometimes comes back sometimes not.....@blackberryhelp advised to do a software reload?

Can i just reload os 5 and then reload to os 6 to reload software?

Re: BIS issue last week or so

I honestly doubt that is an OS problem, sounds more like a local mobile provider issues.

However to reload your device operating system, you can either reload OS5 or 6, your choice.

What is your Operating System loaded to your device? Look at Options > Device > About, third line down beginning with a "v.6.0.x.xxx", What is yours?

Re: BIS issue last week or so

There is no 6.6 OS for the 9700.

Please check that number again?

Re: BIS issue last week or so

fraz, at night when this occurs, are you in a different physical location than in the day when it does not happen?

Like, at home vs. the office?

Re: BIS issue last week or so

nope, in same area. Woke up this morning with no BIS, performed a bateery pull, it came back for 5 mins then disappeared, it came back on a little while later and has been fine all day, i'm guessing tonight it will go again.

Re: BIS issue last week or so

Are you in the UK?

I really don't personally think OS6 is worth having on the 9700. I'd recommend you downgrade the OS to v5 if you're going to do anything, and see if the BIS data issue persists.

Re: BIS issue last week or so

Yes i'm in Scotland.

I've had os 6 for some time now and it seems stable enough, why do you recommend os5?

Re: BIS issue last week or so

If it works for you, that's good.

For many , OS6 takes up too much valuable device memory and therefore causes the phone to be laggy and slow. If that's not your issue... then ignore my comments.
