BLACK SCREEN of DEATH

My blackberry bold is experiencing the Black Screen of Death issues.

 

It continues to receive text messages, phone calls, and alerts but I am unable to answer them because the phone will not respond when I press the trackball or the keyboard. The phone charges just fine and restarts normally when I take out the battery. But after the phone is restarted, the BSOD (black screen of death) issue continues.

 

I have been told to visit this page ( http://www.mediafire.com/?m5ig01rjpfj5jfh ) in order to run on .587 instead of .600. Will this solution work? I'm not very knowledgeable in the tecnical field, so I do not want to try something that might actually damage my bold.

 

Is there a quicker solution to BSOD? What did YOU do?
