Back Up / Restore with new pin.

Recently I sent my phone away for repair. Before I sent it our I backed it up to my computer. I got my phone back to day and they sent me a new phone.

The problem I am having is that Blackberry Desktop Software does not recognize my phone as the old phone and it wont let me restore my contacts and information.

I had attempted to use to to the device menu and switch device but it requires me to plug in the old phone, and of course, they kept it.

Does anyone have any suggestions, solutions? or am I screwed.

Well that isn't very promising first response, but I hope someone can help out.

Thank you for forum etiquette.

You do have a backup of the old device, from before you sent it off? Right?

Try this:

Connect to the PC > Desktop Software.

Click on Device > Restore, and in this case you want to click on SELECT DEVICE DATA so that you are only restoring specific databases.

Select your Calendar, Address Book, etc., and proceed with the prompts to finish.

Good luck, this should work as long as you have a backup.

Well, then why comment, if you can't help?

By the way -- nice signature there. Where'd you get it? Looks familiar... :smileywink:
