Not sure what you are talking about.. what do you want to sync?? 

If you want to sync media with the computer, the sync button will be on the blackberry desktop software and not on the Bold 9780

If you're speaking of email, there is no "sync" button on the 9780 (or any BlackBerry device).

Your email is pushed automatically to your 9780 automatically, without prompt on your part.

In order to sync the status of emails between the server and your device, select reconcile now from the options in your email.

Thanks for your response. i was trying to download whatsapp from bb apps using my phone, asked to press on the 'begin sync button' to install whatsapp.

Sorry, but that would only be correct in the case of BES..."Reconcile Now" is not functional for BIS...

  • KB05379 Reconcile Now option is not available on the BlackBerry smartphone

The OP did not state BIS or BES, but this is not correct for the actual issue anyway...

It sounds like you are using the PC/browser/USB method to install...as such, that button should be on your PC screen, not on the BB itself.

Interesting...I've never heard of the on-device AppWorld client making such a request to the user...

Can you therefore clarify and provide the exact steps you are following (starting from the Homescreen please), the exact result you expect from each step, the exact result you actually see from each step, and the exact and complete content of any error messages presented?

That command does not initiate any sync on BIS email accounts. It's basically a a "dumb" function for BIS users, and only works on BES.
