BlackBerry Bold 9900 Brick Fix(red flashing light)

As I posted before, my 9900 had been bricked, with the red flashing light and all. I tried everything, nothing worked. But then I discovered a fix :smileyvery-happy:

 

1. Download OS 7.0.0.540 here http://www.fileserve.com/file/kJamP7H

2. Install the OS

3. Delete all the vendor.xml files.

4. Put the battery in the phone, plug it in and start apploader. It may take a little while to get it connected, but whenever you see the pin come up, hurry and click next.

5. Select a language and whatever apps you want loaded and install the OS. The phone should come back to life within a few minutes.

some people plug it out then plug it back in just before the initialization stage starts.

mine too didnt work.i have tried so many OS.

My research so far,i discovered about 4 pple were able to revived theirs using this os: 'find a leaked version of 7.0.0.540 (this is a MUST) and install it'
i downloaded d OS it didnt work for me.
am always stucked at re-connecting to JVM.Can't go further

the only os that manage to display the hourglass is this:7.0.0.296 But still stucked @ re-connecting to JVM

It Work, Thanks!!, My bold 9900 was red flashing light bricked.

 

This is what i did, i pull out the battery, let the phone turn on and how up the baterry icon

 

Then with the app loader let recognize my phone with the pin

 

Then click next, when it starts to read JVM i put back on the battery and it work.

I am a blackberry/ os novice and my 9900 is bricked please help. i need baby steps to unbrick my beloved 9900. i am going crazy here.:womansad:

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

 

I would start with these...



Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):

  1. With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
  2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
  3. Remove the battery
  4. Wait 15 minutes
  5. Insert the battery
  6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does

This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.




It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:

  1. Obtain a known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
  2. Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens

The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem.

Dear Friend,

I urgently require your assistance on my BlackBerry Bold 9900.

I received call with the phone then put it in my pocket while in a vehicle, immediately i got down from vehicle i discovered the phone was blinking red light without displaying anything.

I removed the battery placed it back but still no response, hence i took it to authorised dealers where they told me the problem is peculiar to bold 9900. Meaning it has crashed and can not come up again.

i will appreciate if a meaning tips can be given to help out.

For your situation, I recommend you start with the processes documented in this thread in the post immediately above yours. That will help determine if the problem is indeed the device itself, or perhaps just a faulty battery.
