Blackberry 9900 bold touch Unlock code problem

[ Edited ]

Hello,

I have a problem with my blackberry phone....I tried to access yesterday the blackberry desktop software from my computer and the program doesn't recognise the unlock code. I tiped the code 6 times from the computer and then it was blocked. I received the message ' enter blackberry to continue' . The i enterred again the code and it doesnt work. I am 100% sure that the code is correct but the phone doesnt recognise it anymore...I have only 2 attempts and I am scarred to lose all my bb memory again...I had the same problem in the past and all the data was deleted. Can you please help me??? here are my data from the back of the phone:

PIN: {REMOVED}

PRD - 39472 - 021

Model: RDV71UW

IC: 2503A -RDV70UW

IMEI: {REMOVED}

what should i do?? i tried to take off the baterry...and start again....I typed the code after 7 hours but it is not good anymore...PLS HELP

Re: Blackberry 9900 bold touch Unlock code problem

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

The password prompted for by the Desktop Software and the password you assigned to lock your BB are indeed the same password. But, what I suspect is that you've got a mixture of different characters in your device password, and perhaps have not noticed how you must enter those on the BB keyboard. For instance, if your password is

  • ab123

and you enter

  • a > b > ALT > 1 > 2 > 3

the actual result will be

  • ab1er

You must enter

  • a > b > ALT > 1 > ALT > 2 > ALT > 3

in order to wind up with ab123. So, in this example, while on the BB keyboard you think you are typing ab123, you are actually typing ab1er.

On your BB, when you type your password, you should get just a moment where each character is shown in the clear before it changes to an *. Watch closely the next time and you may see a surprising result. It will be those exact characters that you must type on your PC keyboard as that's actually your password.

Good luck!

Re: Blackberry 9900 bold touch Unlock code problem

I know that the password was the same and I typed it carefully and it didn't work...the result is my blocked phone... and also I typed carefully the code by pressing ALT to transform the letters into the numbers to enter my password and guess what??? IT DOESNT WORK!!! my code is 272899 and i typed alt e + alt z + alt e + alt x + alt c + alt c. I must add like you informed me a > b ??? sorry but i don't want to enter the password and make a mistake again since i have only 2 more attempts

Re: Blackberry 9900 bold touch Unlock code problem

Sorry, being human, I needed to sleep...

What, exactly, do you mean by "blocked"? The word can mean many different things to different people, so crystal clarity from you is critical to not giving you incorrect guidance.

With the user-created device unlock code, there is only one way to unlock the device...by typing in the exact same user-created code. There is no other way. Why it's not accepting now what you know to be accurate is a mystery, one which likely will never be solved. Unless you can enter the correct code, the device will wipe clean once you enter it incorrectly the final time. There is no way to abort it. There is no master or override code to prevent it.

Except...you say this is some kind of work device? If, on the off chance, it is a BES-enabled device, then your BES admins might be able to help you. And, even if they don't know how, then the BES and email systems should have backups of at least your critical data...and perhaps everything...it depends on how they have configured BES.

Good luck!
