Blackberry 9930 Bold not showing maps

I am using a Blackberry Bold 9930 without the camera smart phone. This is purchased from ebay.in and the phone is of Verizon wireless USA.

 

All is good with the phone except issues with the GPS functionality. The phone does not show any maps and the screen is blank once clicked on the "Maps" icon. Also the phone is not showing and guidance with voice assistance and the map display. Please let me know how can I resolve this. I am using Vodafone IN as the service provider.

Do you have an active BlackBerry data plan with your network service provider?  Also is there an IT policy listed under Options>Security>Security Status Information?

 

Also just to clarify you're currently located in Indonesia am I right?
