If the reload of the device software did not resolve the issue then this is likely a hardware related issue with the camera.
I would highly suggest you contact your network service provider for repair/exchange options as the next step.

Hello, my Bold 9700 has operating system 6.0. I inherited from my daughter who told me the phone had been hacked at one point. The stills camera and video cameras have not worked since I have had it, just a dark screen with no warning message. I have done 2 security wipes and removed all non BB apps ( You Tube, fb etc). Also hard reset several times. Today I have tried to do a hardware diganostic self test as per KB160137, however when I come to step 4, I cannot find the 'Status ' screen. hence not able to continue, can you advise?
Also I am with giffgaff so I would need to a high street repair agent if I cannot resolve this matter, is there any particular place to takea BB phone?.
I am new to the BB world and am yet to figure what my BB ID is and set my phone up accordingly..
