Blackberry Bold - Outlook

I have been using an 8700 for some time with no synchronisation problems with Outlook but when I try to configure my Bold to synchronise, it does not recognise that I have Outlook on my computer.  My old Blackberry continues to work happily with Outlook on the same computer.

Yes, I have the same problem and cannot get my new bold (arrived today) to synch with Outlook.

 

I've tried to remove the software and relaod, but no success.

 

Can anyone help - this is sooo frustrating!

I cannot sync to outlook calendar either on my laptop with vista and outlook 2007.  It worked for about a week or so, now when the calendar syncs it crashes every time halfway through with the message: "BlackBerry Desktop Manager has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."   I click the "close program" button and Desktop Manager closes and nothing else ever happens.

A thread on the 8700 showed a fix by deleting the intellisync folder and re-syncing, but this does not work with Version 4.6 of the Desktop Manager.  This is brutal.  Same thread recommended uninstalling 4.5-4.6 and installing 4.2 and deleting the folder then re-syncing.  I have not tried this yet, but going back multiple versions is beyond silly.  Any one have a solution???

It is with mixed emotions I must say I solved the problem I had.  I now can sync everything with Outlook easily.  I uninstalled, version 4.6 of the desktop manager that comes with the Bold, downloaded version 4.2 and it works fine.  Nothing wrong with 4.2, but 4.6 is supposed to be the updated fancy UI to match the Bold  ... Oh well, functionally I'm there.

 Yes, I've fixed mine too (so that 4.6 works). Its seems that the new BB desktop software had not fully removed the earlier version on installation and so uninstalling 4.6 fully, then manually cleaning up and deleting what was left of 4.2 and then re-installing 4.6 sorted this out. Unfortunately quite time consuming, but all OK now.

Hi, could anyone help?? I have read with great interest regarding sync and outlook. I shall try the 4.2 version etc, but does the 2003 version of outlook work, or do I need 2007??

Outlook 2003 will work fine with 4.2., I am uncertain about  4.6. The issues with 4.6 I had was with Vista and Outlook 2007

Hi there

 

Hope someone can help. I must have spent 3 hours on the phone to Orange Blackberry specialist but to na avail.

 

I have Outlook 2000 installed on my pc. (we use goldmine) So in order to upload my contacts from my n95 I created a dummy Outlook profile. My contacts loaded up perfectly from my N95. However, when I try to Sync with my Bold Outlook does not appear in the list of applications. So, i then loaded my N95 contacts to Outlook Express which was listed. The sync seemed to work copying 360 or so contacts to my bold.The desktop manager shows the contacts as being synced with the phone but they are nowhere to be found on the phone itself. Any ideas cause i'm going nuts here.

 

Not the greatest experience with ny first Blackberry.
