Blackberry bold 9900 only accepts service provider on a 2G Network

hi,

 

i have a blackberry bold 9900 which was purchashed less than a year from today. Ever since i got the phone, i've been using Rogers as my service provider till lately i decided to switch to koodo for a better deal. my koodo sim displays "SOS' everytime it is inserted into the phone. I tried MTS and Telus but noticed the same problem. i then got a fido sim then it worked. My phone is an unlocked phone right from purchaes, and that leaves me wondering what could be wrong with my phone? I have tried troubleshooting my phone with different service providers and still no luck. I was then told by a specialist that the signal on my phone is poor and thats why it only accepts 2G service provider. Also my phone only works when switched to 2G on the settings and goes back to "SOS" if switched to 3G.
