Took my blackberry in for servicing after 10 months and now am told that they will not honour my warranty. They do not explain why just that the warranty is void becuase the service people say it was damaged inside. No explanation just that they wanted me to pay $199.00 to get it fixed. Anyone else with a blackberry have this scam occur to them?

Rogers should at least provide you with an explanation of why your warranty is being denied. I suspect it's probably moisture damage (which is a popular reason for denying warranty work) but you should hear it from them directly. Rogers is contracted by RIM to supply warranty work. If they are unable to assist you, you can request to have your issue escalated to RIM at no charge to you. Keep in mind that "unable" and "unwilling" are two different things. If they are unwilling to assist you due to moisture damage, don't even think about appealing that decision. Once a carrier has a look inside and sees that the moisture sticker has changed colours, you're completely out of luck.
I wish you good luck with your pursuit. Please keep us up to date by posting your progress in this thread. ![]()
