Bold 9000 SMS icon

My 9000 Bold has the classic six big icons on the main screen on the bottom.

The smartphone has been activated with BIS.

The first two icons are "messages" and "<my email address>", the problem is this two icons are linked to the same function (email messages)

How can i have the first icon linked to SMS instead of email ???

Thanks

Re: Bold 9000 SMS icon

Do you have a separate SMS icon?

If not, go to Messages > Options  > General Options > Separate Email and SMS Inboxes = YES, and then move that icon to the place you want it. (highlight/hover over it > Menu > Move).

Re: Bold 9000 SMS icon

I tried the seperate thing you advised, didn't work.  I even checked in the SMS icon, the email icon and message icon.  All say they are seperate.  But, I still get email or sms messages in both.  :smileysad:

Re: Bold 9000 SMS icon

Ok, here is the scoop.  Went to the local ATT store and spoke with "the expert" about the email/message folder seperation.  He said there is no seperation for these two.  They are one in the same.  We sent about 15 emails and each time they went to both boxes.  When an email was deleted from one box, it was deleated from the other.  We sent a few SMS messages and they went into the SMS/MMS folder only.  Those were seperated.

Fix....move the regular messages folder to the back of the pack and move the SMS/MMS folder into the primary six.  Problem solved.

One problem no solved.  I dont like the email just popping up without me logging into the mail server.  To bad.  This is a "feature" for the biz person.  The only way to disable that is to shut down the email and reenter the wizard to set it up again.

Other than that, so far so good on the phone overall
