I just upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 and I can't get the Desktop software to work on this computer since the upgrade.
I have the latest version of the desktop software (5.0.1.18) and the Blackberry is version 4.6.0.304.
It does install but won't work from either a USB or Bluetooth connection. Does anyone know how to solve this problem. I haven't been able to get help directly from either my carrier (AT & T) or Blackberry. it looks like the drivers for the blackberry aren't there. I really need to be able to sync the two devices.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi,
Uninstall all BB software on the Windows 7 PC and reinstall the DTM again.

Clean reinstall didn't work. When I turn on the Manager I get the message "The Application Loader Wizard requires the Blackberry Device Manager to be installed. Please contact customer support."
Any one have any additional ideas?

I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
5) Install DTM to your PC
6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
7) Start the organizer configuration over:
Hopefully that will get things going again.
Good luck and let us know!
button inside of their post. Further, if you are the original poster (OP) and your issue is solved, please remember to (on the post that is the solution) click the "Accept as Solution" button so that others can more easily find it. Cheers! Oh...and FWIW...I am not a RIM employee...and these forums are user-to-user...not user-to-RIM.

Interesting problem - Here is where I am. I uninstalled the Blackberry software and driver and then reinstalled from a download(5.0.1 which I had been using previously). Through experimentation, I have concluded that it won't work using bluetooth but it will work with the USB cable providing:
1. I don't install the latest update to the Desktop software.
2. I don't install the Roxio Media section.
I don't care too much about the Media section as I can handle that on my main frame but the updates and lack of Bluetooth is an issue.
Any more ideas?
