Bold 9000 - no "sounds" icon

I can't adjust the volume of my ringer, etc.  There is no "sounds" icon that can find anywhere.  I know that previously I have seen this menu in the upper left corner icon (profiles?), but it is not there now.

 

I downloaded the desktop manager and checked for updates - none available, currently 4.6.0.167

 

ideas?

Thanks for the question.

 

I would suggest creating a backup of your data through BlackBerry Desktop Software ( Device>Backup) and then follow the steps in this KB article to reload the device software and then test the sounds icon prior to restoring any data:

thanks - sounds like a great option, only problem is that kb11320 (reloading device software) refers to "A dialog box appears and indicates that there are no BlackBerry Device Software updates available, click View other versions in the lower left corner"

 

however, when it tells me there are no updates available, there is no such message in the lower left corner, or any where else that I can see...

 

my phone software version is v.4.6.0.167

my BB desktop software was just downloaded (I assume latest version - no version number is visible)

 

other ideas?   THX!!!

Thanks for the reply.

 

If you are missing the view other versions option, then you will need to download the BlackBerry device software from your network service provider.

 

Which can be accessed from here: http://ca.blackberry.com/support/apps-and-software/desktop-and-device-download-sites.html

 

Once installed, run BlackBerry Desktop Software again and you will have that option again.
