Bold 9700 browser problem + Disable password

When I open the browser it says " Your device does not currently have any browser configuration service book entries."

What is happening, how can I get my browser working again ?

Also, how can I disable the password. I just don't want to enter my password every 15 minutes.

Thanks

Re: Bold 9700 browser problem + Disable password

Hello kwok105

Welcome to Support Forums

If you have an active BIS on your account then try those steps :

1- Register your Handheld .

  • KB00510 : How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
  • Wait till a Registration messages comes in your message box.

2- Resend your Service Book

  • KB02830 : Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
  • ( Wait till a Registration Message comes in your message box for each email that you have configured on your device )

3-  Then perform a battery pull restart like this while the device is powered On remove your battery wait for a min. then reinsert it back

After reboot open browser and see if that helps .

To disable the password that you have set in your device , On your Homescreen Go to Options > Security > Password .> Unckeck or Unmark ' Enable " then Save it , you have to enter the same password once again to confirm it .

KB00588 : Password Security For the BlackBerry Smartphone.

Re: Bold 9700 browser problem + Disable password

Hi kwok105

Two things you should first clear up :

  • Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan / BIS on your account ?
  • Is that a  used device or you bought it new ?

Hello kwok

Then contact your Carrier and activate BIS / BlackBerry Data Plan in your account to use those features.

Then it have some IT policy enabled which is preventing you to disable the password . So I suggest Do a Backup of your Contacts and any other important items like calander entries , memos , task etc. Once it is done follow this Knowledge Base which may remove such policies from your device :

KB31291 :  How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory settings using BlackBerry Desktop Software

Once it is set to factory setting perform a selective restore , don't restore any application or don't perform a complete restore from those backup.

Try it and let us know.
